Volunteer planting day on Sunday 20th May

We have just come in from a great day of planting and socialising, at which two separate areas were planted with some 1300 trees and shrubs, and new friendships were established. This was a fabulous opportunity for TMHI and the local community to work together to progress our immediate environment

The event was held to create a sustainable landscape, with TMHI staff and QED landscape designers on site to answer questions and to talk about sustainable gardening. Two areas were planted, one on Shannon Place and the second on Ventura Place. Plant species included Coastal Banksia, Seaberry Saltbush and Round Leaf Pig Face to name just three. A leaflet detailing plants and site preparation is available from the Marina office. Visit http://www.tmhi.com.au/ to learn more about this concept.

The event was followed by a leisurely barbeque lunch hosted by TMHI. Drinks, food and conversation allowed everyone a chance to relax and discuss the mornings work. Everyone who attended, whether for an hour or the day, had a great time, and we look forward to seeing more people at the next event.
